This course was great for me. I've had the chance to meet, work and learn from some great musicians.

I would liked to have had a bit more time to record the original songs, although I understand the time constraints were beyond our control.

I would also have liked some lessons in using computer music packages such as Protools etc. (and possibly free lunches!!)

I enjoyed this project very much. I would have like to spend more time on studio work and p.a. setup.

I feel that there was often too much information to take in, in one day and often felt that the course was better suited to guitarists on the Rock Band front and I honestly would have preferred more people from lots of different backgrounds.

The cover songs were mainly for male vocalists, but enjoyed the challenge of making these songs my own. I feel that I would have liked more vocal training for this course.

I found the information on the music industry very interesting and informative, with regards to promoting yourself.

This course was extremely hard work, but extremely educational and rewarding. Thank you! If i had the chance to do the course again I would definately come back

I have really enjoyed this course. it has opened my eyes to a lot of aspects that need to be considered when entering the music business. Most of the tuition has been interesting, but some of the topics seemed to be a bit rushed, foe example the PA setup, which made it difficult to take in.

The recording and son writing part of the course was brilliant experience for me, although it was hard work, but it was new to me and it has given me a feel for the atmosphere in a recording studio.

My only suggestion that I have would be to extend the course, to allow some parts to be covered in greater detail.

I found the tutors to be very helpful and professional, they were always willing to answer any questions throughout. I am glad to have benefited from their knowledge and I hope to be able to work on what I have been taught.

The music for work course was very helpful for me, I got to meet other musicians and try out new and exciting things and work as a team. I

I find working with people that have the same outlook and ambition as myself very fulfilling.

I discovered a lot about music theory and the music business and this has helped me in deciding what way to develop myself as a singer/songwriter, and what to watch out for.

The part of the course which I enjoyed most was the song writing week. I found this to be quite a challenge writing as part of a team, as I usually write alone. I feel that there was also a lot of pressure, as we had to come up with material in only four days.

The tutors were all very helpful and interested in what they do, which made them a pleasure to listen to. The two which stick out in my mind the most would have to be Nick Scott and Tony Talbot, they are very interesting individuals and they were so keen to help when you needed them.

On this course we covered a vast amount of topics in a very short space of time. I found the theory to be very useful and the information on the music industry. I felt that the information meet all of my queries, although it was a lot to take in. The information on PA setup was also very valuable, but again I would like to have spent more time on it.

Overall the course and stretched me as a singer/song writer and has shown me what can be achieved if you put your mind to it.

The wealth of information I have gained from working with these professional is invaluable and I don't believe you could get it anywhere else! My only suggestions is please make the course longer!

I would like to thank all the tutors who gave me the benefit of their time , knowledge and experience throughout this course. They were all very helpful and keen to offer advice and most importantly patient.

Overall it has been quite comprehensive in detailing the music industry, writing music, performing and recording.

The only draw back was that the course was not long enough and I would have like to spend more time on recording and song writing.

The Hamlyn Foundation has been a huge help on putting me on the right track to get me into the music industry. I wouldn't be anywhere if it wasn't for John, Nicky, Clive and Linley. They have taught me everything from how to react in a working situation, how to record, how to compose properly and how to get myself gigs. There should definitely be more of these projects in the future.

Every workshop i have been a part of has been excellent, the standard of musicians has been so high, and the people who were just starting out on there instrument had the same opportunities and encouragement as the people who have been studying there instrument for years. If you don't believe me all you have to do is listen to the CDs.
