NAME: Ciaran Deeny

D.O.B: 28/04/89

Ciaran has been playing the guitar and piano for over five years. He is an active member of his band co-writing songs and singing. He loves rock music and one day hopes to make a living in the music industry.

Ciaran’s inspirations are Rory Gallagher and Green Day

 

NAME: Ryan Early

D.O.B: 11/03/89

Ryan has been a drummer for over five years, he doesn’t sing but is also part of the band’s creative songwriting team. He also loves rock music and one day hope to earn a living through his music.

Ryan’s inspirations are Chad Smith and The Red Hot Chilli Peppers

 

NAME: Brian Gaffney

D.O.B: 18/11/88

Brian has been playing the guitar for over five years and he is also an accomplished Mandolin and Piano player, apart from all of this he manages to find time to sing and write with his band. He is a lover of rock and indie music and records much of his music at home! His future hopes and dreams are to play music, be successful and to have fun!

Brian’s inspirations are Rory Gallagher and Hendrix

 

NAME: Mark O’Rielly

D.O.B: 22/02/89

Mark has been playing the bass for over five years and he is also a talented at playing the flute, guitar, vocals and piano. He enjoys listening to and playing rock and indie music and one day hopes to follow in the footsteps of his brother BBCNI’s very own Across the Line presenter Riggsy!

Mark’s inspirations are Twiggy and Paul Brady

Great, excellent

What aspects of the workshop did you find interested you the most?

Industry talk with Tony Talbot and PA with Robin Martin

Was there any downsides or areas you would have liked covered in more detail?

It was great except it collided with my GCSEs I would have liked it to be longer maybe over the summer and I would have liked more theory classes

Did you find the workbooks of any value?

Ok

Has the music works course changed your future ambitions?

More interested in the professional side of the music industry

What changes have you made to your lifestyle since the course?

Started new guitar lessons, my GCSEs went well and I have started A-levels

Yes

Practice more often

The Hoot, Local Cricket Club and some House Parties

Some that we are working on

Maybe get an EP and play some gigs together

More organised, prepared for rehearsals

Written more original songs and I no longer play rhythm guitar and I now just sing and my singing has improved!

The Hoot in Downpatrick and also at some private functions

What are your future plans with your band and how do you aim to achieve them?

To write more original tracks and to play live more often.

Technical, Recording and the song writing preparation

I have a room with a drum kit set up permanently

There is more structure to our rehearsals and songwriting approach

More opportunity to record we weren’t together enough as most of us had GCSEs

Yes – use it at band practice

Want to do more music workshops and I still want to be a professional musician

What changes have you made to your lifestyle since the course?

Started guitar lessons (He is a drummer)

Practice as much as possible,  writing using the methods we have been taught by the Music Workshop, lot more team work and discussions
