My name is Matthew Burns and I attended the Music Workshop for a week on work-placement at the start of January 2005. The main reason for me wanting to take up placement with this organization was my huge interest in Music and The Media and this was the best place for me to further these talents.

Day 1, I was lucky enough to be at the workshop took place at St. Coleman's in Strabane, where I assisted Linley Hamilton with a seminar on music theory, I also got the opportunity to assist with song-writing skills.

Day 2, I got a private guitar theory lesson with Nick Scott and a practical lesson with Billy McCoy.

Day 3, traveled with Nick to Strabane for part 2 of the workshop. Again I was involved with writing lyrics and I got to act as a session player, playing guitar with the bands that had been formed.

Day 4, I spent creating and designing a CD cover for the Strabane workshop.

Day5, I was able to brush up on my guitar theory and method.
